This is the first time the Everest system will be demonstrated outside Europe. The system can be seen on the lower level of the Sands Convention Center in Room T.

Everest is a next generation realtime presentation graphics and virtual set system for broadcast and post production. The version being shown, Everest V1.5, builds on the experience of six months live client usage adding support for graphic templates, Accom DDR, extra character generator capabilities and new control options. V1.5 is available beginning in early June, 1998.

Current Everest customers include CBS, New York for live graphics production, TV2 in Bergen, Norway for Virtual Sets and TV4 Sweden.

Steve Jacobs, executive producer for New Media at CBS News, New York, said "Everest enables CBS to expand and enhance the traditional broadcasting methodology while bringing new immediacy and impact to on-air graphics. We will use Everest’s templates to minimize the time to air for complex topics as well as to expand the state-of-the-art for us and our affiliates.

Andy Johnston, Sales and Marketing Director for Peak Systems, said "Everest is designed to be used by existing control room personnel and be cost effective and scaleable for all programming requirements from background replacement to a full virtual set. Peak Systems’ mission is to deliver and integrate our systems worldwide both directly and via partners."
